Lady Boy (B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful)

By Dane

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful has some very intriguing scents, and although Lady Boy is hidden in the men's section, it may be one of their best. To call this a hidden treasure would be an understatement - Lady Boy has one of the most unique combination of notes I've come across in some time.

What's that combo you ask? Well, the star of the show can't be missed (it's printed right on the bottle) - banana. I made the assumption that something with this title would have a fruity element, but adding a banana note is pure genius. Frankly, if I smell another melon, apricot, or cherry, I may die of boredom. Banana has a kitchy quality that most elegant compositions would avoid, but with a playful take like that of LB, you may question what your definition of elegant has been all long.

To be fair, LB also has three other notes that stand out as prominent to my nose - patchouli, oakmoss, and musk. The patchouli adds an earthy, dirty element; the oakmoss brings a dusty, doughy quality that almost reads as iris; and the musk leaves a powerful trail that follows you throughout the day.

Lady Boy doesn't quite reach the heights of complexity that Breath of God does, but in terms of wearability and "fun factor", LB wins.

A note to BNTBTBB - when is your line going to make it to this side of the pond? It's not fair that we get stuck with the stench of Lush while you lucky Brits get all the good stuff!
