Before we move on to the weirdness that is Breath of God, a little background info. B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful (seriously, I'm not making that up) is an off-shoot of the ever-popular mall stinker, Lush (as of yet, only available in England.) Their claim is that their products are (mostly) natural and vegan. Typically something like that would make me run for to the Comme des Garcons aisle, but BNTBTBB happens to make some interesting offerings (made notorious by a certain reviewing duo.)
On to the blasphemy that is Breath of God. Did I see (or smell rather) an epiphany upon spritzing? Not quite, but BoG did evoke something in me - I can't say I've ever smelled anything like it before (not an easy task to pull these days.) Opening with a peculiar minty blast of bitter woods, BoG doesn't play any games with subtlety. A bonfire smoke follows, moving on to an unexpected bruised fruit accord. A strange combo, but somehow successful. Just think, all this could be yours...and in a cheap bottle hot-glued to a cake plate!
I mistakenly assumed that this type of "natural" fragrance would fall short in terms of longevity, but BoG goes on for hours and hours and fills the room with its weirdness. This won't be easy to come by here in North America, but if you get the chance to smell it, don't pass it up.
