Friday One Liners

By Dane

Sometimes I just don't have enough to say about something to warrant a full review...hence, a few one-liners (good and bad).

Great Jones (Bond No. 9) - Chanel Pour Monsieur minus the magic.

Eau de Cologne (Helmut Lang) - crotch rot.

Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme (Gucci) - Cool Water with a dumb name.

HM (Hanae Mori) - cotton candy from hell.

Beautiful (Estee Lauder) - dryer sheet.

L'Ete en Douce (L'Aritsan Parfumeur) - dryer sheet from hell.

Issey Miyake Pour Homme (Issey Miyake) - the stench of gay bars circa 1998.

Amour Le Parfum (Kenzo) - Amour with the amber turned up, vanilla turned down, and the bottle sprayed gold.

100% Love (S-Perfume) - unwearable art.

Chene (Serge Lutens) - pencil shavings.

The Pour Un Ete (L'Artisan Parfumeur) - Bvlgari's The Vert + jasmine.

Virgin Island Water (Creed) - cocoa butter lovin'.

Sublime Balkiss (The Different Company) - okay, I haven't even smelled this...but...seriously?...who thought up this name?...hehe...you said Balkiss.

  1. I never even thought of..uh... Balkiss as... what it says in English. Actually, Balkis is a name of the Queen of Shebah. It is also the name of a Parfums de Nicolaï fragrance. That's why it bugged me. Initially. Now there's an added reason. Do these people never think of what their names sound like at least in a couple of other, large market languages?
