Serge Lutens Comment

I thought this comment left on the review for Five O'Clock au Gingembre deserved it's own post:
From "Communication Parfums Serge Lutens":

Rough translation (through Google.com):

"Serge Lutens, a correction would be made.

He is the author of its perfumes from A to Z (the essence of the fragrance, through the design of the bottle packaging until ...). Christopher Sheldrake is obviously involved in the design of these perfumes but as a technician.

For Serge Lutens, it is important to make this correction because such information is confusing.
It may be detrimental Christopher Sheldrake which is engaged in Chanel.

To advance, we thank you for your attention and remain at your disposal for any information on this subject."

Apparently Christopher Sheldrake is not the perfumer for the Serge Lutens fragrance line, but a mere technician. I wonder if anyone's told him that? I have never claimed that Mr. Lutens was anything less than a genius, but come on...let's give some credit where's it's due.

Here's my disclaimer - the information I provide on this site is considered general and public knowledge, as disclosed through various websites and publications.

Isn't it funny how dozens of glowing reviews for SL fragrances have been written on the site, but the one negative review gets a comment? I wonder what will come after my review for Miel du Bois?

  2. This is highly interesting, Dane (so thank you for pointing it out) on so many levels; especially because it proves that there is a shaping force within the perfume community, it's not just beauty-writing fluff.
I do know for a fact that a very prominent luxury house reads my venue and although I haven't received any negativity (so far, at least) I do hope that there won't be any dampering on alternative and independent voices.
    Ca serait dommage! :-)
