How can I describe Miel de Bois? Wild animals swimming in honey? Urine soaked wood? Bottled evil? I have mixed feelings about it, but one thing is for sure, you will be left with an impression.
While I never (ever....ever!) want to wear it, there's something utterly captivating about this scent. I like MdB, but briefly, and from afar. It is strong, cloying, and manages to bite the back of your throat like nothing else. Once the sharp, stabbing opening calms though, a lovely wood element becomes more prominent. There are also floral notes present, but overall the honey is front and centre the entire time. Once again, I encourage you to test on paper before skin...consider yourself warned.
Like Muscs Koublai Khan, something this shocking can only be understood if experienced. Counselling may be required after though, so don't say I didn't warn you.

This was definitely love at second sniff for me. The first try, i was very intrigue. initially blast, i did get the cat pee that everyone is talking about then it morphed into incensy wood and honey but it wasn't a very clear picture.
ReplyDeleteMy second time trying this fragrance. The stars themselves aligned and everything was magic. Immediately after spray, i am a bear in the new england northern forest, where the air is chill and crisp with the warm sun ray shinning on me and i am eating honey out of a freshly fallen tree trunk which the bees have made their hives.
The smell is very raw sweet and outdoorsy. Very sweet but with the don't fuck with me lurking the the back ground. I guess this would be the animalic accord or the evil you're talking about. haha. It is such a visceral experience. The juicy stayed alive on my skin, throbbing and morphing itself into different variations on the wood honey incense theme until some hours later, around 10 hours, it settles into honey wood and incense without that being out in nature feeling.
