It's about time Cartier released a new men's scent...how many limited edition bottles of Declaration does one need? Roadster corresponds with Cartier's sporty watch line of the same name, and has a flashy bottle to match.
Roadster opens with a brilliant mint note. Mathilde Laurent created a superb accord that could only be rivaled by the now defunct Mint by Comme des Garcons. Brisk, chilly and fresh without smelling like mouthwash. The topnotes last a good time before they calms to a green, herbal heart. I had high hopes for this scent, and up until the drydown, everything went swimmingly. Then came the nasty, cheap synthetic amber. Who allows this stuff to be on the list of acceptable ingredients? It should added to some sort of toxic blacklist. Strong, sharp tuna fish sandwich accords have ruined many potentially great men's scents, and Cartier managed to slip it in thinking no one would notice.
I'm not a fan of testing scents on paper, but it honestly is worth it for the first 30-45 minutes. Just make sure you're near an open fire for the ending.

bonjour pere de pierre, je suis bien désolée que votre olfaction n'ai pas été bonne sur Roadster ! pourtant je peux vous dire que je déteste les notes ambrées modernes habituelles et cheap et que je ne travaille jamais avec. il n'y a que du vrai patchouli,du vrai ciste qui donne la note ambrée, et de très belles notes boisées dans ce parfum. dommage et désolée qu'il ne vous plaise pas mais même les parfums de meilleure qualité ne peuvent plaire à tout le monde et c'est bien ça la création. bien cordialement.
