Jasmin Noir (Bvlgari)

By Dane

After several horrific recent releases from Bvlgari comes Jasmin Noir, a subtle, classy scent reminiscent of the jewellery house's memorable scents of the 90's.

I feared the worst. Voile de Jasmin was a brash, pink number that could have been part of Paris Hilton's collection, or even a shampoo fragrance. All of the Omnia's blur into one and didn't strike me as anything worth remembering. Jasmin Noir is soft, reserved, and what all of the previous scents should have been.

I'll skip over the description of notes, because none of them are really apparent to me. In fact, if you didn't tell me this was jasmin, I might even have a hard time picking that out. I smell a very restrained floral with wood undertones and a delicate vanilla veil. I even had to ask the spritzer lady to douse the card again for me, it's that light. An overall powdery, make-up smell makes the scent almost nostalgic, without smelling too old fashioned. I imagine this won't be a hit with the boys, but it sure beats Bvlgari's recent male-counterparts.

A big impression it won't make, but I imagine it would make a perfect "you" scent. Like Bvlgari's iconic Eau Parfumee au The Vert, Jasmin Noir doesn't smell like a person wearing perfume, but a beautiful smelling person instead.

Side note - how good does Kate Moss look in that ad? Meow.
