Mr. Hulot's Holiday (CB I Hate Perfume)

By Dane

I typically love CB I Hate Perfume's unusual fragrances. Russian Caravan Tea continues to be a staple for me, and often tops my recommendations to others. Christopher Brosius captures moments in time, and while this can be a fascinating experience, they don't always produce a wearable scent.

Mr. Hulot's Holiday is described as the smell of the Mediterranean sea while on vacation (as in the movie of the same name). Salty seaweed, musty driftwood, and the old leather luggage you brought with you. Along with the story, it makes a wonderful olfactive experience. Without the story though, you have an aldehydic aquatic. Sharp on the opening, a bit "perfumy", and not all that pleasant. As a roomspray, wonderful. Do I want to wear it? No.

Still worth smelling, along with the others in the line. There's no doubt that at least one will capture your essence perfectly.

Perfumer: Christopher Brosius
Notes: Salty Breeze, Driftwood, Seaweed Covered Rocks, Old Leather Suitcases
