Vetyver (Givenchy)

By Dane
Givenchy's re-released Vetyver is for the vetiver-purist. Stripped of all ornamentation, Givenchy's website even lists vetiver in the notes three times! It allegedly uses three varieties of the plant (a grass native to India), so perhaps that was their reasoning. There is virtually no progression at all...it goes on smelling like vetiver and remains that way, which, for some of you, will be exactly what you're looking for.

After reviewing several vetiver fragrances, it's hard to pick a favourite. While I like vetiver, I'm content with one or two good examples in my collection. For someone that must own them all, I hope you're enjoying all the recent reviews on the subject! If you're fussy and want only the best, all I can say is this - it was good enough to be Hubert de Givenchy's favourite, so it'll be good enough for you. Buy it before it disappears off the shelves again.

Year: 1959
Notes: Bergamot, Vetiver, Coriander Leaves, Sandalwood
