Guerrilla 2 (Comme des Garcons)

By Dane

Guerrilla 2, to me, seems lik a tribute to previous CDG fragrances, taking inspiration from scents like Rose, Cinnamon, and Sequoia and combining the best elements of each.

G2 opens with a zingy pepper and ginger combination with berry tones. From there, floral notes of rose and tuberose join in and temper the spice. Soon woody elements smooth out the composition before it fades to a soft, floral-musk. All told, everything is very well blended and nothing immediately jumps out at you. It seems like an odd choice to have the inspiration for the perfume allegedly come from the colour red, especially after having a whole series devoted to it, but G2 is a welcome addition to the line (unlike Guerrilla 1 with its meaty, cheesy champaca accord).

G2 might seem a bit feminine to some guys, but only aspects of it, which makes it a good constrasting fragrance. Not the most original in CDG's collection, but infinitely more wearable than many others. Love the decoy bottles that come with it too.
