Eau de Cartier (Cartier)

By Dane

We all love a nice, crisp summer fragrance, and while a high-quality Eau de Cologne is a great choice, sometimes something a bit different is nice. Eau de Cartier manages to be both refreshing and clean while being much more interesting and complex than your typical citrus.

If I could only describe EdC in one word, it would be "bright". A tart and tangy citrus opening is followed by a green, woody stage and rounded out with a very faint amber in the drydown. The composition is heavy with synthetics, and while this would normally not speak well of the quality, the ingredients are paired perfectly with each other and it comes across as very subtle and classy. The lasting power isn't great, but the gargantuan size of the bottle makes up for it.

Cartier has a fine line of men's fragrances, and Eau de Cologne (although unisex) leads the pack for me (followed by Declaration and Must de Cartier). Elegant and easy to wear. Great bottle too.

Year: 2001
Notes: Yuzu, Bergamot, Violet Leaf, Cedarwood, Ambergris
