Feuilles de Tabac (Miller Harris)

By Dane

Miller Harris consistently disappoint me with their lackluster, harsh concoctions, and Feuilles de Tabac is no exception.

Tobacco is one of the warmest, most comforting aromas you could have the fortune of smelling, and FdT manages to turn it into a big obnoxious mess. The opening notes are so pungent they could wake the dead, or at the very least, kill the living. The heart of the scent has enough clove that you may never look at eggnog the same way again, and a heavy dose of patchouli that fades into a generically masculine, crude drydown. I'll give them this though - it doesn't smell at all synthetic until the very end, but smelling natural isn't always a good thing.

Where did the tobacco go? It's not something you can easily drown out, but MH has done the impossible and managed to do just that. Way to go.
