Gucci Envy is a striking scent (not to mention a striking colour) that is often overlooked. The packaging is a bit obnoxious (thanks Tom), and it now seems a tad dated (although only released in '98) due to every guy and his uncle wearing it. The combination of zingy ginger, woods, and incense, however, is nothing short of beautiful.
Ginger opens the show, and continues throughout much of the scent. Once things calm down a bit, an overused synthetic amber rears its ugly head, but soon a smoky-woods accord joins in and calms things down. I don't know if it's the association with the brand, but Envy comes across as very sexy and a bit dirty (which I mean in the best possible way).
I still prefer Gucci Pour Homme overall, but Envy stands its ground and makes a fine companion to the stunning Envy for women.
