Palais Jamais is a fascinating exercise in contradiction. Heavy, dark ingredients given a light citrus platform...not what you'd expect from the strange and upsetting colour of the juice.
PJ opens with tart citrus notes soon joined by herbs and spices that create an unusual, astringent accord. Mossy vetiver and leather start the mentioned contradiction with the lighter notes while the herbal elements remain prominent. A rich, musky drydown seems to last forever on my skin. Although created in the late 80's, the composition seems very modern and fits in perfectly with Etro's fashions.
Surprisingly elegant and just unusual enough to keep my interest without becoming unwearable. The best offering from Etro's line by far.
