Hermes' Un Jardin Sur Le Nil is my secret oasis of a scent. It is green and fresh and is not reminiscent of perfume at all to my nose. It is the experience of a hot summer day spent in the cool of the shade with a tall glass of 7-Up with a wedge of lime, and a bowl of exotic fruits nearby. There are also traces of sun warmed wood to anchor the experience.
This scent does not straddle up to the unisex line of division from either side, but rather sits solidly on that line.
There doesn't appear to be much sillage with UJSLN, although I'm a notorious sillage tamer. However, whatever presence this scent emits from your skin will continue to do so for a very long time, which is remarkable given the usual longevity of similar notes.
So, when the dog days of summer make most other perfumes capable of suffocation, I will be reaching for my own personal oasis created by the ever talented Jean-Claude Ellena, who's genius is not easily, nor quickly appreciated by most.
