S-ex (S-Perfume)

By Dane

S-ex is a peculiar scent (both the act and the perfume in question). S-ex didn't really come across as I thought it would. I read the notes, I expected something pungent and animalic, the typical associations. What I got was a soft aquatic leather (and a stunning one at that!)

Instead of reinterpreting some of the sultry, pungent leathers of the past (Bandit, Cabochard), S-ex smells almost like an actual person...salty, musky, and masculine. If only everyone could smell like this, the world would be a better place.

Opening with a chemical, leather note which is soon accompanied by an artificial fruit note (what I presume is the strawberry). The strawberry note contrasts as a high-pitched facet with the low-pitched leather. The two meld beautifully and create a liquid, shoe-polish sort of smell. Salty, aquatic tones soon enter the picture along with soft musks, which carry on into the drydown.

A strange, subtle and beautiful scent. Although very synthetic in texture, S-ex comes across as smelling like something very familiar and comforting.

The concentration is an unusually high 18% and is evident when sprayed on the skin with an oily texture. Given that, the scent is quite light skin scent.
