Continuing on the A*men tradition comes Ice*Men, originally a limited edition summer scent (Summer Flash, 2006) that has been added to the regular line.
There's no other way to describe the opening of Ice*Men but "cold". Some of the comparisons I've read online include Ben-Gay, Tiger Balm, and mouthwash (okay, some of those were my descriptions.)
After the icy menthol blast comes an aquatic accord that first lead me to think "oh no, here comes the Calone", but to my surprise, on came A*men's patchouli! I can't say that an aquatic patchouli would normally appeal to me, but Mugler yet again surprises me. The dryness of the patchouli beautifully compliments the cold watery note. The list of notes also includes "iced coffee", but no coffee note seems to jump out at me.
Not your everyday department store fragrance, it won't appeal to all, but definitely worth a try. Those who don't love the original A*men should definitely give it a shot as it goes in a completely different (and welcome) direction.
Bottled in the traditional A*men bottle with some slight alterations.
