H.O.T. Always (Bond No. 9)

By Dane

Bond No. 9 is a curious little outfit that names all of it's scents after something to do with New York. I have no idea what H.O.T. Always as a name has to do with NYC (apparently its in midtown)...I'll blame that on my Canadianism. The name, however, definitely suits the contents of the bottle.

HA contains a strong, camphorous note hovering above a dirty bundle of patchouli. Camphor has a strange knack for smelling both hot and cold simultaneously...almost like the burning sensation mouthwash gives after rinsing. Other spices like cinnamon emphasize this even further (cinnamon and camphor are both in the same family of Laurel evergreen trees).

There are several other advertised notes, but for the most part, HA is about patchouli. Dirty, dirty patchouli. I'll give props to Bond for this one...its ballsy and daring and considerably more interesting than the rest of their offerings.

Year: 2003
Notes: Cinnamon, Bergamot, Patchouli
