A soft, white musk, in Goutal's transparent, light style, with a backdrop of a more animalic musk and a slightly sweet and boozy vanillic character.
Typical of Goutal's scents, MN is quite subtle and very much a "skin musk". It has a dirtier feel than your typical white musk, like Lutens' Clair de Musc, but nowhere near the monster within Musc Koublai Khan. I'd say it's closer to Kiehl's Musk, but much more natural and reserved. It isn't a clean, soapy musk that you find in most mainstream scents.
It opens up with a strong, boozy note that almost makes you think you didn't let it settle in long enough to let the alcohol burn off...but it stays that way for a bit, then seems to fade into an almost not-there skin-musk. A warmer, sweet note presents itself gradually, and a woodsy, dry note develops into the drydown. The lasting power is quite good, but I think it might stay close to the skin, so I wouldn't expect any compliments unless someone was very close.
